Hailing originally from Stourport on Severn, Brian was educated at what was then Stourport Secondary Modern School. On leaving school he became an apprentice and subsequently qualified as an electrical engineer. Several career moves later saw him in the position of Sales and Operations Planning Demand Manager, from which he retired in 2015.

Having been initiated into Lodge of Yardley 6324 in 2001 and becoming Master in 2008, he was also Master of Godson Lodge 2385 in 2009, and a Provincial Grand Steward in 2012. He was promoted to PPrGReg in 2020.

In 2007 Brian was exalted into the Holy Royal Arch in Stechford Chapter 3185, becoming 1st Principal in 2012 and he was appointed Provincial Grand Standard Bearer in 2015 and having served in the office of Provincial Asst Grand Scribe E in 2017 became the Prov. Grand Scribe E in 2019 and appointed and promoted to Grand Rank as a PGStdB in 2020. He also holds the 30° in the Ancient and Accepted Rite being a member of Northfield Rose Croix 1022. He became a member of Stechford Lodge of Mark Master Masons 747 and Stechford Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners in 2014 and 2015 respectively.

In his youth Brian rowed for Bewdley Rowing Club and briefly flirted with Squash but not very successfully. Although not a fan of football he enjoys watching all other sports particularly Golf, Cricket, Tennis and Athletics.
