Barry Griffin was appointed to the Office of Third Provincial Grand Principal in April 2019 and reappointed in October 2020 as a result of the Covid-19 restrictions. He was Promoted to Past Grand Standard Bearer at the April 2014 Convocation of Supreme Grand Chapter.
In Warwickshire he has the rank of PPSGW awarded in June 2020. In Worcestershire he was awarded with the acting rank of Senior Grand Deacon in June 2003 and has since served as Provincial Grand Registrar for 13 years, from February 2007 until April 2020. He was invested as PPSGW in June 2014.
Barry was exalted into the Holy Royal Arch in Bordesley Abbey Chapter No 4495 in 1983. He is also a member of KT, in which he holds the rank of PGtAdeC.
Barry has been married to Gill, since August 1966. They have a daughter and a son and four grandchildren. He is a retired schoolteacher, who specialised in English and Mathematics. He spends any spare time in reading, gardening and wandering round National Trust properties. He is also a member of the League of Friends of the Alexandra Hospital in Redditch, where he sometimes works in the coffee shop and is the secretary of his Probus club.
