Ian Fothergill is the Information Officer for the Province of Worcestershire’s Royal Arch. Appointed 3rd Provincial Grand Principal in April 2012 and promoted to P.G.St.B. at the SGC Annual Investiture Convocation at the end of April 2012. Appointed to the rank of PAGSoj at the April Convocation of Supreme Grand Chapter, and, in the Fourth Para after …..as the Provincial Almoner add in December 2021 he was promoted to the VIth Degree in Knights Benificent of the Holy City.

He was born in Abberton, Essex, and studied business studies at SW London College. Ian spent 17 years in the Royal Marines, before his 30 year career in the Security Industry. Ian is a Freeman of City of London, Liveryman Worshipful Company of Security Professionals, and a Former Fellow of the Institute of Directors and Institute of Leadership and Management.

Ian was Initiated into Athol Lodge No. 5241 in 1984 and Exalted into Athol Chapter in 1987. Attaining LGR and LGCR. He was the Founder First Principal of White Ensign Chapter No. 9169 and served as Provincial Assistant Grand Scribe Ezra from 2007 - 2012, before being appointed Third Provincial Grand Principal.

In other Orders Ian holds the rank pf PGStd(B) in KT and is in his 5th year as the Provincial Almoner. He is a Member of the 31st Degree in Rose Croix and serves as the District Recorder for Worcestershire. 

He is married to Irene and together they have a son and a daughter and four grandchildren. In his spare time, Ian enjoys reading and playing golf, as well as being a member of a number of other Masonic Orders.
