1st Matched Funding Request

The 1st for “Match Funding” !!

After the Alms collection from their Installation convocation, on the 17th November, the Charity Steward of St Edburgha Chapter No 4621 – E.Comp George Lowther – made a request for “Match Funding” by the Provincial Grand Chapter of Worcestershire Charity Fund.

The “Match Funding” initiative, which was launched by the MEGS, is to encourage our Chapters to consider their local charities & community good causes when raising their Alms collections. The Provincial Charity Fund would add upto £100 to the money raised.

St Edburgha passed £117.50 in the “red” Gift Aid envelopes which will not only attract an additional 25% in reclaimed Tax BUT a further £100 from the “Match Funding”.

A further amount of £107, which was raised by a raffle will make a grand total of over £353 .

The beneficiary of this donation being the Edward’s Trust which

was set up in 1989 in memory of Edward,Dent who died aged 7 of cancer at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The Trust provides much needed support to bereaved families by

supporting children, young people and parents across the West Midlands and has been regularly supported by the Chapter over the years.
