Worcestershire Grand Sanhedrin

Saturday 30th September

· Events

So, what is a Sanhedrin? We have all seen and heard the word in our Royal Arch Ritual but what does it mean and where does it come from. In Biblical times the Grand or Great Sanhedrin was a council or Court of the Jewish and Aramaic people.

The word comes from the Greek word “Sunedrion” which can be translated as a place of assembly, or a session, an assembly, a council or a court.

Our planned Grand Sanhedrin which is to be held at Kings Heath Freemasons’ Hall on Saturday 30th September can best be described as an assembly of representatives from every chapter for the exchange of ideas, thoughts, views and suggestions to enhance the Royal Arch experience in each Chapter in the Province and to promote this Supreme Order to Master Masons who have yet to complete their journey through pure and Antient Freemasonry.
