The longest day this year enabled the Members ofWorcestershire Installed First Principals Chapter to enjoy its 39thBirthday at Kings Heath in well ventilated conditions to cope with the summer weather.
After a very successful period in each of the Chairs E Comp. Gerry Jinks, PPrGSN, CM rounded off his contribution as First Principal by installing E. Comp.John Yeates, PAGSoj, PPrGH as his Successor. He in turn installed E Comp.Geoff Weston, PGSwdB, PDepGSupt as H who installed E Comp. Martyn HardemanPPrGSN, CM as J. All this work may be summarised briefly but the preparation necessary as ever for a successful evening, particularly by PrGSE E Comp. Brian Harper, PGStdB , ,Treasurer E. Comp. Paul Taylor, PPrGStdB, SLGCR, and DC E Comp. David Shrimpton, PPrGSN was noted as vital.
The MEGS John Phenix presided, accompanied as heis only rarely at Installations, by DepGSupt. Michael Cox, Pr GH Tim Jones and Pr GJ
Steve Middleditch with Dep PrGDC Paul Webber in attendance. The PrGDC Alan Bolton was of course there as an Officer of the Chapter.
A huge number of Officers of SGC and many Provincial Officers witnessed the appointment of our MEGS as 1stAGSoj. of the Chapter and for those who understand the arcane tradition of this Chapter this heralds the intention of him being installed as Third Principal next year.
E Comp Kevin Bryant, Prov.G.Soj, was appointed Principal Sojourner and acquitted himself perfectly both closing the Chapter and at a most convivial Festive Board. The Chapter was grateful for a guest performance at the Organ by E Comp. Josephus Davies, PPrGStwd while regretting the poor health of E.Comp Bill Sherlock,PAGSoj, PPrGJ who has been our faithful supporter in so many ways for years.
